Rkive City, founded by Ritwik Khanna in 2022, is a design‑and‑research studio focused on garment‑to‑garment remapping with zero‑waste principles at its core.
Khanna describes the process as a continuum of re‑wear, repair, and reconstruction, prioritising repair over recycling to preserve the character and history of garments. Margarita, in collaboration with Rkive City, has created work where stone becomes an archival surface for photographic memory, and where photography is not simply a means of representation but a tool for inscribing time. Exposed stones bear traces of light, absence, and ephemeral imprint. For both, the work is not about producing something new, but about preserving what already is—fractured, forgotten, or overlooked—and reanimating it through poetic intervention.
